Skates and helmets are NOT available for rent during lessons. Skaters must bring their own.

Pre-CanSkate is the basic learn-to-skate program offered by the club for the absolute beginner, whether their focus is on figure skating, hockey, speed skating or just skating for fun.
It is for first time skaters (3-5 years old) and is designed to give them the very basics of skating and to be a “fun” experience.

The focus of this program is to make skating fun and keep the skaters interested in learning! Skating skills taught range from learning to stand and balance to going forwards and backwards.
It is a “Playschool on Ice” with circuits, toys and games.

This 45 minute group lesson is taught by a Professional CanSkate Coach with assistance from our Program Assistants.

Pre-CanSkaters receive a certificate and ribbon at the end of each session. Coaches will move the skater into the regular CanSkate program when they feel they are ready.

All Pre and CanSkaters are required to wear CSA approved helmets.
Face shields or cages are highly recommended for skaters aged 5 and under.

Pre-CanSkate and CanSkate programs run at the same time, however registration for each program is separate.  Please register your skater to the appropriate program.  Space is limited.
