Synchronized skating is a captivating blend of artistry, precision, and teamwork. Imagine a choreographed dance performed by a team of eight to sixteen skaters moving in harmony – seamlessly weaving intricate formations and executing synchronized movements to music.

In 2014, we debuted our first ever synchro team, Ice Symmetrix Beginner, consisting of 16 enthusiastic skaters. By 2018, we were proudly offering four teams, made up of almost 60 skaters of various levels and abilities. They represented our club very well and skated with passion. After a brief hiatus due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we relaunched our synchro program once again in 2023, this time with two teams.

Our synchro program runs from early September to mid-March. The teams practice once a week, both on and off the ice, and attend between 4-6 shows and competitions throughout the season. Team fees are inclusive of coaching, ice time and competitions for the duration of the season. We also have team managers who organize fundraisers to help off set costs and team building activities to foster a sense of camaraderie and team spirit among members.

Synchro is a fantastic opportunity for skaters to work on their skating skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. They also learn valuable interpersonal skills such as communication, leadership and problem-solving. And of course, the skaters build meaningful friendships while having fun on the ice.

Our goal is to one day have a team attend the National Synchronized Skating Championships.
